NEW YORK – Rookie guard Shoni Schimmel of the Atlanta Dream has the top-selling jersey in the league.

Schimmel, a former Louisville standout, was the eighth player drafted this year. Though she usually is a reserve for the Dream, she has been voted as a starter for Saturday’s All-Star Game in Phoenix.

It is the third time in four seasons a rookie has held the top spot in jersey sales.

Second-year guard Skylar Diggins of the Tulsa Shock is second on the list. Brittney Griner was the top seller as a rookie last year and is sixth this year.

Elena Delle Donne of the Chicago Sky is third. Minnesota’s Maya Moore, who was first in 2011 and 2012, is fourth this year.

Jersey rankings are based on sales since the start of the regular season.

Schimmel has propelled the Dream to No. 1 on the team-merchandise list.

Parker dominates

INDIANAPOLIS – With her team struggling against Indiana, Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks took over.

Parker scored 17 of her season-high 34 points in the third quarter to help Los Angeles rally to beat the Fever 86-78 on Tuesday.

“We were down 10 (at halftime), so the game was at a point where it could have gone either way,” Parker said. “We were either going to get back in the game or it was going to be a blowout.”

Phoenix prevails

PHOENIX – Candice Dupree scored 19 points and Griner scored 16, including her second dunk of the season, as the Phoenix Mercury extended its franchise-record winning streak to 11 games with a 90-78 victory over Washington.
