Severe weather conditions forced the postponement of a match scheduled for Saturday.
Colorado had been unbeaten (6-0-3) in its previous nine home openers.
Amobi Okugo added a goal for Philadelphia (1-1), which is in its third year as an MLS franchise. The Union was 0-3-2 in its previous meetings with Colorado.

With Chivas USA down 1-0, Juan Agudelo tied the score with a left-footed finish in the 68th minute.
After Minda scored to give Chivas a 2-1 lead, Giovani Casillas added a goal in stoppage time.
FC Dallas’ defense gave Chivas some space on the winning goal.
George John, a former Washington Huskies player, could not control a pass that fell to Minda, who took his time and beat goalkeeper Raul Fernandez.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Rookie Adam Jahn scored his first professional goal and then set up Chris Wondolowski’s winning penalty in second-half injury time that gave the San Jose Earthquakes a 2-1 MLS victory over the New York Red Bulls.
Wondolowski scored in the 92nd minute with his second try at the penalty kick, which initially came about when Jahn headed a corner kick into the arm of defender Roy Miller. New York keeper Luis Robles saved the first attempt, but referee Ricardo Salazar awarded San Jose another chance after Miller entered the penalty area too soon.
Eric Alexander gave the Red Bulls a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute.
