BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Seattle University missed three shots in the final 10 seconds with a chance to take the lead, but came up empty on each occasion in an 80-78 loss to Cal State Bakersfield in a Western Athletic Conference women’s game Thursday night.
With the Redhawks down 79-78, Kacie Sowell missed a pair of jumpers, then Ashley Ward missed from close range.
Bakersfield finally got the rebound and made a free throw with one second left to conclude the scoring.
Taelor Ross scored 22 to lead Seattle U (8-10, 3-2 WAC), Sowell scored 21 and Ward added 16 points.
