The Seattle University women’s basketball team pushed its winning streak to three games, knocking off Louisiana Tech, 87-74, in Ruston, La. Thursday night.

“I really think this was a great team win for us,” said Seattle coach Joan Bonvicini. “Louisiana Tech has a great home advantage, but what we try to do is establish our inside game.”

Kacie Sowell led all players with a career-high 26 points, and four other Redhawks scored in double figures. Sylvia Shephard recorded a double-double, with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Ashley Ward and Daidra Brown added 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Seattle U (14-9, 11-3 in WAC) sealed the win at the stripe — its final 15 points were from free throws.

Overall, the Redhawks shot 51.9 percent from the field (27 for 52), as well as 86.1 percent (31 for 36) from the free-throw line.

Forward Whitney Frazier led the Lady Techsters with 20 points.
