The Seahawks needed to be perfect in the second half in order to mount a 31-point comeback, and they nearly were.

As coach Pete Carroll said after Sunday’s 31-24 loss to the Panthers, the game was a microcosm of the season — terrible first half, wrought with sloppy play and mistakes, followed by a nearly flawless second half. In the end, though, neither the game nor the season lived up to expectations for the Seahawks. As fans and media members pointed out on social media following the game, the Panthers clearly were the better team Sunday.

All things considered, folks were rather upbeat about the way the Seahawks battled back, writing how proud they were of the team just to have battled back from a seemingly insurmountable first-half deficit. They also looked ahead to what will likely be an eventful offseason, with key roster decisions looming.

And while the rollercoaster season ends in Charlotte, you can bet this team isn’t done making noise. Russell Wilson said it best following the game on Twitter:

“Grateful for the opportunity. We will be back.”
