Seattle now has four selections in the seventh round
The Seahawks don’t currently hold a pick during the first day of the NFL draft after trading their first-round choice as part of the package to acquire Percy Harvin from Minnesota.
The Seahawks will finish with a flourish, though, after being awarded two more seventh-round choices as compensation for suffering a net loss in free agency.
The NFL awarded 32 compensatory choices Monday, spreading them among 16 teams. The Seahawks were given two seventh-round choices in part for the free-agent departures of quarterback Charlie Whitehurst and safety Atari Bigby, both of whom went to San Diego.
The Seahawks hold 10 choices in the draft. Seattle won’t draft until the second round, where it holds the 26th selection of the round. The Seahawks have a third-round pick, a fourth-round pick and two fifth-round picks before concluding with one pick in the sixth round and four in the seventh.
