Martell Webster, Seattle Prep boys basketball
Webster, a 6-foot-8 senior guard, scored a season-high 37 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a 60-54 win over Vincent of Milwaukee at the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. Webster hit 13 of 19 field-goal attempts, 5 of 10 three-point shots and 6 of 9 free throws. He also had 33 points (including nine three-pointers) and seven rebounds in a 64-62 loss to Arlington Country Day of Jacksonville, Fla. Webster was the tournament’s leading scorer with 117 points in four games.
Regina Rogers, Chief Sealth girls basketball
Rogers, a sophomore, scored a game-high 20 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals as the top-ranked Seahawks beat Bellevue 67-59. The 6-3 post player scored 14 points the day before in a 77-37 victory against Rogers of Puyallup.
Everett girls basketball team
The Seagulls, coached by Craig Langley, overcame a nine-point deficit with a 26-7 fourth-quarter explosion to beat Jackson 58-48 in a WesCo South matchup. Everett made 12 of 16 free throws in the fourth quarter. Senior forward Elaina Olson was 7 for 7.
