Just Like Uptown takes a big drop in class. Big Question has been second in four straight races. Who’s Cat Is Dat cuts back in distance and could pull off a surprise.
Sanibel Harbor has been working out well for her debut, and two 6-furlong workouts should have her ready. Ms. Parker can improve in her second start. Fragrant Harbor debuts for trainer Doris Harwood, who does a good job with 2-year-olds making their first start.
Surfliner has finished second as the 4-5 and 2-5 favorite in his last two races. He’ll likely be favored again, but patience among bettors has to be thin. Just Jokin Around will be rallying late. The distance should be no problem for Full Effect, who has two wins in 43 career starts.
Olympic Lights drops in class to a level where he is tough, but he will need to avoid going too fast too early in what should be a quick pace. Cat On Base is very quick and might improve in his second start after a layoff. Majorca Gold goes for his third straight win and also has a good shot in a very competitive race.
SCRATCHED: My Cadi
Opening Buzz is tough at this level, but this is only her second start at a mile. Mum’s Joke drops to a career-low level and might like the extra distance. Joy’s Jaguar won at this distance in her last race.
Touch of Elegance is rounding into form. Strategic Patience should rebound from an uncharacteristic poor performance. A Belle and a Cat has not been worse than second in six career starts.
Stikine Slough was third in his debut, beaten by less than a length while breaking from the outside post as the 9-10 favorite. Kenai King won his debut in that same race. Nicolas Cajun looked great beating a group of maiden $25,000 claimers.
Get Well changed tactics in her last race, being up near the lead. She would be better served making one late run. Plum Naked will try to lead from gate to wire. Five Times drops in class.
