Bremerton native Nathan Adrian began swimming at the age of five and over the past four years has become one of the top swimmers in the world.

He recently won two gold medals (100m freestyle and 4x100m medley relay) and a silver (4x100m freestyle relay) at the 2012 Olympics in London. He also earned a gold medal for contributing to an American team victory in the 4x100m freestyle relay at the 2008 Olympics.

At the 2008 World Championships (short course), he won two golds and a silver and at the 2009 and 2011 World Championship he took home a combined three golds and a bronze.

Adrian currently holds the American record in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle (short course) events.

He attended the University of California and is a five-time individual NCAA champion as he won the 50-yard freestyle in 2009 and 2011 as well as the 100-yard freestyle in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
