Saturday

First race: 2 p.m.

1 61/2 furlongs, purse $5,100, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $2,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
1 Mister Messenger J Zunino 5/2 124
3 Expenses Paid D Lopez 2 121
4 Last Defense E Kubinova 7/2 115
2 Play Hard to Win J Rosales 8 121
5 Salsa Boy I Enriquez 4 121
6 Voltar L Camacho-Flores 10 121

Mister Messenger could get an easy lead in a paceless race. Throw out his last start when he began very slowly and never had a chance. Expenses Paid was scratched out of a race Friday to run in this, but he is developing a habit of finishing second. Last Defense finished second in a similar race two weeks ago.

2 6 furlongs, purse $8,925, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming weight for age $12,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
3 Square Jimmer J Gutierrez 7/5 118
5 Africa Star L Camacho-Flores 7/2 118
1 Hearts Harbor D Lopez 12 118
2 One Cheezy Dude J Zunino 6 118
4 Brilliant Thought R Richard 8 118
6 Master Game G Mitchell 4 124

Square Jimmer returns to a sprint after finishing second at a mile. Africa Star has had a couple of nice workouts preparing for his career debut for trainer Hilbern Mullens, who does a good job year after year. Hearts Harbor runs for a claiming price for the first time.

3 6 furlongs, purse $5,500, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming $5,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
1 The Prime Mover D Lopez 4 118
6 Nitro Road J Zunino 2 124
5 Splendini I Enriquez 5/2 124
2 Park That Truck R Richard 9/2 124
3 Regazze Cat F Valdez 20 118
4 Sir Riley L Camacho-Flores 8 118
7 Akutan L Mawing 8 118

The Prime Mover should improve in his second start at Emerald Downs. Nitro Road drops in class and returns to a sprint. Splendini lost a similar race as the 6-5 favorite and is now in trainer Frank Lucarelli’s barn after getting claimed.

4 1 mile, purse $7,450, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $7,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
2 Bull Whiskey R Richard 7/2 124
5 Bound to Win E Kubinova 3 121
3 Charlie’s Gold J Matias 4 118
1 Secret Harbor J Gutierrez 9/2 115
4 Nosetodagrindstone G Mitchell 2 118
6 Air Grinder D Lopez 12 115

Bull Whiskey ran a dud as the 7-5 favorite in a similar race. I think he will rebound in this race. Bound to Win was second in his last race when dropping down in class to this level. Charlie’s Gold races against older horses after winning as the 7-10 favorite.

5 6 furlongs, purse $10,300, 3-year-olds and up, WCL $12,500/$10,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
3 Financial Officer J Whitaker 7/2 121
6 So Legit R Bowen 2 121
2 Mister Breeze R Richard 3 118
1 Clemkadiddlehopper J Gutierrez 10 115
4 Ryans Argument J Zunino 5/2 121
5 Stormin Parker G Mitchell 10 115

Financial Officer, a 4-year-old, faces a field that has three 3-year-olds in it. He was third against a tough field in his last race. So Legit drops in class after finishing second as the 4-5 favorite. Mister Breeze jumps up in class after an easy win.

6 61/2 furlongs, purse $5,100, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $2,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
2 Hope for Sara E Kubinova 2 117
1 Sheza Silver Moon F Valdez 3 120
5 Come On Cozzene L Mawing 7/2 120
3 Parker’s Prospect G Mitchell 12 114
4 Midnight Maggie R Bowen 12 120
6 Appealing Artie R Richard 15 123
7 Parker’s Pearl D Lopez 6 120
8 Chips Indy Salsa L Gonzalez 20 120
9 One Smart Girl J Zunino 20 120

Hope for Sara was scratched out of a race Friday to run in this one, and she has a substantial speed figure edge over this field. Sheza Silver Moon will likely be closer to the lead today after uncharacteristically, and unsuccessfully, dropping back early in her last race. Come On Cozzene has good early speed.

7 6 furlongs, purse $12,700, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $15,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
2 Saddleranch I Enriquez 7/5 120
3 Star of the Dia G Mitchell 3 122
1 He’s a Cruiser L Mawing 5/2 120
4 Songandabullet D Lopez 6 120
5 Spit and Shine J Zunino 5 114

Saddleranch should improve in his second start after a long layoff. Star of the Dia is in great form and also has a good chance to win. He’s a Cruiser steps up in class while going for his fourth straight win.

8 6 furlongs, purse $18,900, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, AOC $25,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
9 Stephanie Plum L Camacho-Flores 3 123
4 Alert in Class L Mawing 9/2 120
5 Grab Ahold I Enriquez 7/2 120
1 Ms. Sutherland J Zunino 12 123
2 Whiskey Miner D Lopez 12 120
3 Hetty R Bowen 6 120
6 River of Aces E Kubinova 6 123
7 Beautranda F Valdez 12 120
8 Da Burn R Richard 8 114

Stephanie Plum is in great form and her typical race should give her a good chance to win. Alert in Class will try to atone for losing as the 7-5 favorite in a similar race. She will need to avoid going too fast early in the race. Grab Ahold will be rallying late.

9 1 mile, purse $5,500, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming $5,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
8 Bluegrass Fox Trot L Mawing 8/5 118
3 No Claim Will Do R Bowen 3 118
2 Its Guiness Time R Richard 7/2 118
1 Stoneman D Lopez 12 118
4 Everydayimhustlin J Whitaker 6 124
5 Plan A J Zunino 20 118
6 Nacho Macho J Matias 12 118
7 Onetimeforolmark L Camacho-Flores 20 118

Bluegrass Fox Trot and No Claim Will Do are both plunging in class. It’s Guiness Time has been in the money in three of six starts and also drops to a career-low claiming level.

BEST BET: Hope for Sara.
