3 Zafari Nation J Zunino 8 114
4 Alta’s Forever C Doll 15 114
6 Parker’s Prospect L Mawing 3 114

Niftys Tee Time had a tough trip in his last race and gets a better post position. Lahaina Rose easily beat bottom-level maidens in her last start, and the second-place horse came back to win last weekend. Claudia’s Cahill looks pretty good if you can excuse her last race, which was a clunker.

2 61/2 furlongs, purse $5,900, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $2,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
6 Da Ruler A Sanguinetti 7/2 124

4 Brudda Clyde C Doll 2 124
1 Our Marshal Cahill L Camacho-Flores 10 124
2 Making Fire E Kubinova 12 124
5 Always the Same R Bowen 4 124
7 Marvin’s Magic J Gutierrez 10 124

Da Ruler is tough at this claiming level and at this distance. Immigration has been second in his past two starts and is still trying hard at age 10. Brudda Clyde is coming off a nice win and might be favored, but why is he dropping in class?

3 6 furlongs, purse $17,850, 3-year-olds and up, maiden optional claiming $30,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
2 Calculated Chaos A Sanguinetti 3 124
5 Italian Warrior L Mawing 7/2 118
6 St Nicholas Becky I Enriquez 5/2 118
1 Cahill Lyon J Gutierrez 4 118
3 On the Turn L Camacho-Flores 9/2 124
4 Wide Rule J Rosales 8 119

Calculated Chaos returns to 6 furlongs after finishing third at a mile. He can take a step forward. Italian Warrior could be ready for a big race in his third start after a layoff. St Nicholas Becky jumps up in class but is an improving horse.

4 5 furlongs, purse $17,850, 2-year-old, fillies, maiden special weight
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
7 Raesbeautiful Hope R Bowen 4 117
9 Dance With Effie L Mawing 3 117
8 Andiamo Deb J Matias 9/2 117
1 Dancingwithdebbie I Enriquez 5 117
2 Chronologic’sghost A Sanguinetti 8 117
3 Twelfth Fan L Camacho-Flores 15 117
4 Sneaking a Kiss J Gutierrez 6 117
5 Pippa Bou Peep E Kubinova 8 117
6 Steady Teddy R Richard 12 117

Raesbeautiful Hope has been training well for her career debut for trainer Tom Wenzel, who is overdue to have a 2-year-old winner. Dance With Effie showed good speed in her debut and held on for second. Andiamo Deb was a well-beaten seventh as the 8-5 favorite in a similar race two weeks ago.

5 11/16 miles, purse $5,900, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $2,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
1 Barton Hill A Sanguinetti 6 124
6 Localsucess L Mawing 5/2 124
7 Moment of Weakness C Doll 7/2 124
2 Joel N Jill R Bowen 10 118
3 Run Atom J Whitaker 12 124
4 Twentyten J Matias 4 118
5 Honour Family E Kubinova 3 124

Barton Hill isn’t the most consistent horse, but he has a good chance if it’s a day when he feels like running. Localsucess ran a clunker in his Emerald Downs debut, but leading jockey Leslie Mawing takes the mount while getting off Moment of Weakness, another top contender in this race.

6 61/2 furlongs, purse $5,900, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
7 Anitewithyou L Mawing 5/2 120
6 Promiscuous Harbor R Bowen 2 123
5 Forbidden Kee I Enriquez 3 120
1 American Council J Zunino 6 123
2 Special Buttons R Richard 15 120
3 Nobluffjustgo A Sanguinetti 8 123
4 Chromatose C Doll 12 123

Anitewithyou looked like she might win her last race, but got fanned real wide into the stretch. She gets a rider change to Mawing, which could help. Promiscuous Harbor won her last race by 6½ lengths. Forbidden Kee was second at this level in her last start, which was her first at Emerald Downs.

7 6 furlongs, purse $7,200, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $5,000/$4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
1 Perfect Pie A Sanguinetti 9/2 119
6 Cha Cha Latte R Bowen 6/5 123
5 Ducoti J Matias 3 123
2 Jewel S. I Enriquez 5 119
3 Strange Luck R Richard 12 119
4 Bella Angelina J Whitaker 6 119

Perfect Pie would have trounced this group last year. She continues down the class ladder after three poor races to open this year, and she deserves one more chance. Cha Cha Latte has won four of five starts at Emerald Downs. Ducoti has won 10 times at Emerald Downs in 35 starts.

8 6 furlongs, purse $7,450, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $7,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
6 Tricky Person E Kubinova 5/2 118
5 Magic Molly J Matias 5 124
2 Seadrifter L Mawing 7/2 118
1 Inkey Mooey I Enriquez 4 118
3 Mini Candy R Bowen 9/2 118
4 Kandra F Valdez 3 121

Tricky Person ran too fast, too early in her last race and faded badly as the even-money favorite. She drops in class and is a threat to lead from gate to wire. Magic Molly tries hard every race and should be close at the end. Seadrifter drops in class.

9 61/2 furlongs, purse $5,500, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming $5,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
7 Alaazwho L Mawing 3 118
2 Drop Volley J Matias 2 118
6 Everydayimhustlin J Whitaker 5 124
1 J P Diamond I Enriquez 10 118
3 Regazze Cat L Camacho-Flores 15 118
4 Lamparo R Bowen 6 118
5 Retirement R Richard 20 124
8 Skip My Turn E Kubinova 6 118

Alaazwho cuts back to a much better distance, and the top jockey takes the mount. Drop Volley has been second in his past two races but was scratched by the veterinarian before the start of his scheduled race June 28. Everydayimhustlin in winless in 18 starts, but has been in the money in three of his past four races.

BEST BET: Anitewithyou.
