Tonight’s entries

First race: 6 p.m.

1 1 mile, purse $6,000, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming $5,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
2 India Pale A Rojas 10 117
4 Cut Free K Radke 5/2 118
1 Initialize J Gutierrez 4 118
3 Pi Gold Werner-Hagerty 6 117
5 Sweet Tommie W Dieguez 20 118
6 No Fear Bill R Frazier 7/2 124
7 Hail Mister True A Gutierrez 20 118
8 Classic Lad S Martinez 3 124

INDIA PALE ($4K yearling purchase) makes his career debut at age 4 for trainer Bob Meeking (17 percent in route races the past five seasons). No speed in opener, so maybe this one can grab the early lead. CUT FREE usually checks in ahead of most when he goes racing. Too bad the roan gelding doesn’t have any early run. INITIALIZE is another who is void of any early run in the opener.

2 1 mile, purse $6,300, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
1 Stella Bosch J Whitaker 8/5 123
6 Auburn Lady A Rojas 20 116
7 Jazzy’s Hat Trick Hoonan-Trujillo 6 119
2 Explodin’ by U R Frazier 10 123
3 Let’s Cuddle Up W Dieguez 6 123
4 Duchess Arvilla L Mawing 7/2 119
5 Ruby Begonia T Cunningham 15 117
8 Belle’s Cat S Martinez 9/2 123

STELLA BOSCH won by nearly 9 lengths in her last start when allowed to dictate the lead as the 2-1 favorite. AUBURN LADY has two wins at the meet, and both times they were shockers (15-1 and 10-1). Trainer Alan Bozell has brought in some bombers, with runners going sprint to route in the past. JAZZY’S HAT TRICK has a decent record at tonight’s distance but did finish a distant second to Stella Bosch in her last start.

3 6 ½ furlongs, purse $6,600, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $3,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
8 Potrero Station G Mitchell 5/2 124
1 Whiteriver Gold S Martinez 6 124
7 Slowwaterrunsdeep Hoonan-Trujillo 20 124
2 Brass Tacks J Gutierrez 3 124
3 On the Ave K Radke 5 124
4 Little Blast L Mawing 6 124
5 Bad Tom R Frazier 6 124
6 Reef Shark Werner-Hagerty 12 117

POTRERO STATION woke up in a big way when last racing. He opened up a commanding lead to score at 9-1. WHITERIVER GOLD needs to save some ground through the turn, and tonight’s distance (6 ½ furlongs) should be a good fit. SLOWWATERRUNSDEEP gets ignored at the betting window but does make it into the trifecta on occasion.

4 6 furlongs, purse $10,700, 3-year-old, maiden claiming $17,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
4 Proud Cajun G Mitchell 9/2 122
6 Kid Huey K Radke 7/2 122
1 Slewdlezzu L Mawing 3 122
2 Havin a Good Day R Frazier 6 122

7 Tiger Mtn Road Werner-Hagerty 10 115
8 Jazzy Soup Hoonan-Trujillo 20 117
9 Billy Boy Blue W Dieguez 5 122

Can PROUD CAJUN put together consecutive good efforts? He’ll likely be in the winner’s circle if he does. KID HUEY makes his second career start and tries much softer this time around. SLEWDLEZZU ($15K yearling purchase) finished second after battling all the way to the wire in his debut.

5 6 furlongs, purse $6,300, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $4,000

9 R W Dusty’s Girl S Martinez 6 121
11 Something Sassy L Mawing 15 119
12 Notes of Freedom T Cunningham 20 117

LIBBY GREEN drops to an all-time low in class for trainer Dan Markle, who has just one win at the current stand. TRUE INDIAN held on to win by a desperate neck in her most recent start. VIKING TRIBUNAL missed hitting the board for the first time at the meet, but she did encounter traffic problems.

6 6 furlongs, purse $6,100, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
8 Lil Squirt Hoonan-Trujillo 5/2 123
2 Our Lil’ Elfie K Radke 6 123
4 Miss Cracker Jack J Gutierrez 9/2 123
1 Bold Tizzy S Martinez 6 119
3 Your Highness Leia A Rojas 5 118
5 Bury the Hatchet C Jones 12 123
6 Explicit Dream L Mawing 8 119
7 Just Chub R Frazier 4 119

LIL SQUIRT, who just won by a dozen lengths, makes first start for new trainer Charlie Essex, who was 4 for 7 the past five years with runners making their first start after being claimed. She figures to be no worse than third against this solid group of filly and mares. OUR LIL’ ELFIE makes her first start for leading trainer Tim McCanna (25 percent first off the claim with a $1.90 ROI). MISS CRACKER JACK has put forth a couple of big races for trainer Tom Wenzel, but each time a Mike Chambers-trained runner from Turf Paradise won the heat.

7 5 ½ furlongs, purse $10,000, 3-year-old, fillies, claiming $12,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
4 Brahms Swings R Frazier 6 117
6 Ihavemorefun S Martinez 2 117
2 This September G Mitchell 3 121
1 Russian L Mawing 15 121
3 Passion for Dance Werner-Hagerty 10 114
5 Regal Sis K Radke 5/2 121
7 My Thistle A Rojas 15 114

BRAHMS SWINGS rattled off a wire-to-wire score in her Emerald debut six weeks ago. She’s one of many in here who likes to be the early leader. IHAVEMOREFUN tries softer competition after breaking her maiden at Bay Meadows. THIS SEPTEMBER, who is improving every start, will likely have to pass rivals to win this very competitive race.

8 1 mile, purse $6,200, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $3,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
5 The Great Question L Mawing 5 123
7 Jasmine Taj W Dieguez 10 123
10 Misplaced Lady K Radke 7/2 123
1 Dari’s Dancer J Whitaker 20 123
2 Jury Duty Hoonan-Trujillo 8 123
3 Stars On the Water Werner-Hagerty 3 116
4 Lauren Knows G Mitchell 15 123
6 Wazzu Red S Martinez 9/2 123
8 Go Cub Go J Gutierrez 20 123
9 Penny Power R Frazier 6 123

THE GREAT QUESTION improved in her last start (a fast-closing second) and does have a darn good record at tonight’s distance. JASMINE TAJ lost a bunch of ground in her last start but still finished within 5 lengths of the winner. MISPLACED LADY shoots for three straight victories, but the post should pose a serious problem.
