DETROIT — Mariners manager Eric Wedge said the team is in no hurry to call David Aardsma back up to the majors after the closer experienced another shaky Class AAA outing on Tuesday.
“Again, I think he continues to settle in and feels good but still needs more repetition,” Wedge said.
Aardsma walked the first batter he faced, then gave up a run-scoring triple before settling down. He threw 21 pitches, 12 for strikes, in his fourth injury-rehabilitation outing with AAA Tacoma.
Wedge said the fact Aardsma was able to pitch out of trouble was a positive sign.

The plan is for Aardsma to get a couple of days off, then get into another game. Wedge said he’ll keep doing that until Aardsma feels good again — the way he did before undergoing hip surgery last December.
