Roper, dubbed “Sniper” by opposing coaches, had a season-high 27 points to lead the No. 2 Eagles back to the 3A state quarterfinals, raising her season average to 15.7. Metro League MVP helped team take third last year.

It was a breakout year for Benton, who carried the Eagles into the playoffs by averaging 26.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 2.7 assists. The SPSL 4A South MVP scored 30 or more nine times.
6-1, Sr., Skyline
A four-year varsity player, Smith blossomed into the KingCo 4A MVP this season and led the Spartans to the state quarterfinals for only the second time in school history. She averages better than 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists. Signed with Colorado.
5-9, Sr., Lake Stevens
Pahukoa, a repeat Star Times choice, has scored more than 1,000 points in her career, including a school-record 42 in one game this season. Averages 19.6 points (she missed six games with a dislocated finger) and drilled 28 Friday to lead Viks to the Tacoma Dome. Boise State commit with twin Brittney.
6-0, Jr., Mount Rainier
After earning Star Times and Gatorade State Player of Year honors as a sophomore while leading Mount Rainier to third place at state, McPhee has gotten even better. She averages 26.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.9 steals and 2.9 blocks, recording more than 20 double-doubles for top-ranked Rams.
Coach of the Year
Sonya Elliott, West Seattle
Elliott, in her third year as head coach, guided the Wildcats to their first Metro League division title. They won 14 games — more than any other West Seattle team in at least 20 years — and reached the district tourney. Elliott was Metro Coach of the Year.
