Shorewood High School senior Trevor Mitsui has been named Gatorade Player of the Year for the state in baseball.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound corner infielder led his team to the Class 3A state-title game, batting .712 with 13 home runs and one strikeout in 97 plate appearances going into the semifinals.

Garfield junior midfielder Aaron Kovar was previously named Gatorade’s Player of the Year for the state in boys soccer. Softball and track and field winners will be announced later this month.
