Volodkevic: “Winning a fourth 4A state team championship in a row. I hope to place top five in the 100 freestyle and top three in the 50 free. “
Q: What are your best memories in your four seasons at Skyline?
Volodkevic: “Our dry-land workouts. In the summer, you can find Skyline girls army-crawling across the muddy grass and running 400-meter sprints around baseball fields. Because our dry-land coach lives for cross-fit, he always yells at us during workouts, saying, ‘If you aren’t throwing up or passed out by now, you aren’t trying hard enough.’ “
Q: Who are your role models?
Volodkevic: “My mom. She is the human resources manager of six hotels and six restaurants. Her schedule is extremely hectic, yet she still balances home life and work. My other role model is Chrissie Wellington, a British triathlete and four-time World Ironman champion.”
Q: Which teammate is the unsung hero on the Skyline team?
Volodkevic: “Andi Scarcello. Her enthusiasm toward being captain of the swim team has made this year a memorable one. She by far works the hardest at practice and always has a positive attitude. “
