Two-time defending state champion Bellevue and Issaquah earned berths in the 2014 Washington Lacrosse Boys Division I state championship game, while Seattle Academy and King’s Way Christian School earned Division II state title berths with wins in their semifinals contests on Wednesday.

The Wolverines, which played in the state’s inaugural title game in 1979 and are making their 17th appearance in the championships, downed previously undefeated Eastside Catholic, 8-7, to advance, while Issaquah, which last won the Washington state boys lacrosse championship in 2009, downed Tahoma, 9-8, to advance.

In Division II play, Seattle Academy, a first year program, downed Vashon Island High School, 13-4, for its first state title game appearance, while King’s Way dropped the Overlake School, 16-7, to move on to the title contest.

Saturday’s Division I title game at Memorial Stadium in Seattle gets underway at 6 p.m. The contest is preceded by the Division II title game at 3:30 p.m.
