Some players are taking the last week before NFL training camps open to rest up and finish vacations, but Seahawks safety Michael Boulware isn’t one of them.
Boulware is among a group of veteran players working out at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla., with Tom Shaw, one of the league’s leading sprint and conditioning coaches.
That Boulware is running and doing drills for two hours followed by a weightlifting session says something about the importance of this season for the fourth-year pro. Boulware lost his starting job at strong safety for half of last season, though injuries in the secondary got him back into the starting lineup two games before the playoffs.
Before 2006, Boulware started 20 consecutive regular-season games after a fine rookie year in 2004.
Boulware is currently listed behind recently acquired Brian Russell at strong safety.
