Beginning Dec. 30, Lynnwood Municipal will be managed by Premier Golf, which already operates 10 courses in five other Puget Sound municipalities, including Seattle and Everett.
The future of the Lynnwood course was put in jeopardy earlier this year when a state audit showed that the course was borrowing money from the city and was unable to repay it.
A major reason city officials believe Premier can do a better job of marketing the course is because Premier has a loyalty-and-rewards program that the company said has more than 50,000 members.
The contract runs through 2018 and has renewal options. The 18-hole course adjoins the campus of Edmonds Community College.
