Third baseman, Class A High Desert Mavericks

Selected in the fourth round of the 2012 draft out of Rutgers University, Kivlehan is tearing up Cal League pitching. Going into the weekend, the hard-hitting third baseman was hitting .318 (28 for 88) with eight homers and 23 runs batted in and a 1.031 on-base plus slugging percentage. Kivlehan had back-to-back two-homer games and was named the California League player of the week. After playing football for four years for the Scarlet Knights, he walked on to the baseball team as a senior and was named the Big East player of the year.

Starting pitcher, Chicago White Sox

After designating him for assignment, the Mariners traded the talented but ineffective Noesi to the Rangers on April 12 for a player to be named. Noesi’s stay with Texas was short. He made three appearances, giving up 11 runs in 51

3 innings pitched for an 11.81 earned-run average. In his last outing for the Rangers against the White Sox, he allowed seven runs on seven hits in the ninth inning of a 16-2 loss. Oddly, the White Sox claimed Noesi off of waivers on Friday a day after the Rangers designated him for assignment.
