The Falcons (23-7) advance to the regional final for the first time since 2006. They meet host and top-seed Western Washington at 7 p.m. Monday. The winner advances to the Elite Eight (March 21-24) in Highland Heights, Ky.
The 12th-ranked Vikings won both regular-season meetings against SPU.
“Our guys recognize that we didn’t just come here to win the first-round game or to just be competitive,” said Falcons coach Ryan Looney. “Every time we talked before coming here we said our goal was to still be playing when we get back home.”

Downs scored seven of his game-high 21 points on free throws inside the final 2:17. The sophomore point guard converted 10 of 12 shots from the line.
Poling was also productive from the line, hitting 13 of 16 attempts. He scored 11 of his 19 points during the first half.
Alaska Anchorage (23-7) was led by reserve Lonnie Ridgeway with 14 points. Guard Travis Thompson finished with 13 and Liam Gibcus had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
At Western 74, Chico St. 65
Forwards Rory Blanche and Zach Henifin scored 17 points each for the Vikings (27-5). Henifin had nine rebounds and three blocks.
WWU also got 13 points from John Allen and 11 from Richard Woodworth.
Sean Park led Chico State (25-8) with 13 points.
At San Diego 81, Western 66
Chelsea Carlisle scored 20 points and Daisy Feder had 19 as the top-seeded Tritons (30-2) rolled past the Vikings (22-8) in a West Region semifinal.
Western’s Britt Harris scored 23 points on 11-of-13 shooting and Kristin Schramm scored 21.
San Diego will host Alaska Anchorage in Monday’s final.
