ELLENSBURG — Quarterback Mike Reilly passed for 281 yards and rushed for a game-high 102 yards, leading Central Washington to a 30-7 win over Humboldt State yesterday.

The Wildcats defense had a big game as well, holding the Jacks to just 11 first downs and 223 total yards. Central also held the ball for more than 41 minutes.

Central opened the scoring on its second possession, utilizing good field position on a workmanlike 53-yard drive. The drive appeared to stall on third-and-10, but Reilly found Josh Boonstra in the end zone from 13 yards, putting CWU ahead 7-0 with 5:34 left in the first quarter.

That trend continued throughout the first half, Central getting great field position and usually capitalizing. Three turnovers by the Jacks — one on a Blake Moorman interception and two others on fumbled center-quarterback exchanges — led to a 19-0 Wildcats lead at the break.

Coby Sadler connected on field goals of 37 and 40 yards for Central, which also scored two safeties.
