Dennison joins Hawks

Dayton “Matt” Dennison, who once played quarterback for Washington State, joined the Everett Hawks of the arenafootball2 league on Tuesday.

Hawks coach Rickey Foggie offered the 6-foot-6, 228-pound Dennison the contract after observing him during an open tryout on Saturday at the Snohomish Soccer Dome.

Dennison is the second ex-Cougars QB in as many weeks to join the league. Former Cougar Jason Gesser recently signed with the Utah Blaze.

As an all-league quarterback at Hazen High in Renton, Dennison led the Seamount League in touchdown passes.
