No. 25 Gonzaga clinched its eighth straight West Coast Conference women's regular-season title and avenged a 30-point loss to Brigham Young with a 77-60 victory over BYU in Spokane.
SPOKANE — No. 25 Gonzaga won the West Coast Conference regular-season title outright Saturday and avenged a 30-point loss to Brigham Young with a 77-60 victory over BYU.
Gonzaga has eight WCC regular-season titles in a row.
“I would rate this right at the top, just because it was hard fought,” Zags coach Kelly Graves said of the latest championship.
Katelan Redmon of Spokane contributed 28 points and seven rebounds for the Zags (25-4 overall, 14-2 WCC).

Gonzaga shot 49 percent. In a 70-40 loss to BYU on Feb. 9, the Zags shot 22 percent while scoring their fewest points in 11 years.
Kayla Standish of Ellensburg added 15 points and Taelor Karr had 11 points and six assists for Gonzaga.
Haley Steed had 17 points for BYU (24-6, 12-4), which will carry the No. 2 seed into the WCC tournament. The top two seeds get byes into the semifinals.
