TEMPE, Ariz. – Jahii Carson scored 18 points and Jonathan Gilling added 12, leading Arizona State to a 72-51 rout of Colorado in men’s basketball Saturday.
Arizona State (15-5 overall, 4-3 Pac-12) beat Utah in its previous game and rolled past Colorado (15-6, 4-4) after struggling with turnovers early. The Sun Devils led by 11 points in the first half and turned the game into a blowout in the opening minutes of the second behind a barrage of three-pointers.
Gilling, a junior forward from Denmark, made all four of his three-point attempts and Carson became Arizona State’s fourth player to surpass 1,000 career points in his first two seasons. Carson also had six rebounds and four assists as the Sun Devils improved to 11-1 at home.
Xavier Johnson scored 12 points for the Buffaloes, who went 2 of 11 from three-point range.
