The Academy Auto Awards are here.

Acting. You do it daily. You act when you tell your co-worker that you love their new tie and when you explain to the mechanic that you totally got an oil change 3,000 miles ago.

Driving. You do it daily. You drive to Wal-Mart to pick out a stylish new tie and to the auto shop for an oil change every 3,000 miles.

In the spirit of the 89th Academy Awards, we decided it would be fun to pair some of our favorite nominated actors with their car counterparts. Why? Because both groups have a wide spectrum of personalities. Meryl Streep drives a script way differently than Roseanne Barr. Vipers have incredibly different personalities than Wranglers. See where we’re going with this?

If you’re with us, hop in. The red carpet is already rolled out and we’re wasting time on this debriefing.

Casey Affleck – Jeep Wrangler

Casey Affleck is everywhere these days: tabloids, Saturday Night Live, and on the poll for best actor in a leading role. And, while Manchester is by the sea, the car version of Mr. Affleck is off-roading somewhere. We’re, of course, talking about the Jeep Wrangler. Casey’s recent mountain-man look says it all. Not to mention that his raw, performance-first approach to acting compares nicely to the rugged, iconic Jeep Wrangler. So the next time you drive past Casey Affleck, make sure to give him the signature 3-finger wave.

Denzel Washington – Dodge Challenger

Classic American muscle meets classically handsome. Much like Denzel, the Dodge Challenger tends to steal the show. Mr. Washington isn’t a single suite actor. He can be funny and charming, then switch to scary and serious without batting an eye. His modern-yet-classic demeanor backed by a wide range of personalities pairs nicely with the iconic Challenger (which comes in 10 trim levels).

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – Ram 1500

While, the Rock isn’t nominated for any awards, he’ll be presenting one with Amy Adams. Recently voted the sexiest man alive, we couldn’t pair this beefcake with anything but the very sexy, very built Ram 1500. Both are driven by power and charisma as they turn heads with their thoroughbred abilities. Can you smell what the 1500 is cooking?

Emma Stone – Dodge Dart

Yes, we know that 2016 marks the end of the Dodge Dart, but c’mon, it’s hard to deny the similarities shared between the Dart and Miss Stone. Both are quick, charming and easy-going.  Emma has reached stardom as the girl next door, while the Dart has established itself as the car parked in the girl next door’s driveway. At the end of the day, both Emma Stone and the Dodge Dart are just downright likable.

Meryl Streep – Chrysler 300

Classic. Iconic. Admired. The 300 has ruled America’s highways with its V8 power, and Meryl Streep has ruled America’s big screens with her acting power. While both are beautifully designed inside and out, both Meryl and the 300 are more than just looks (i.e., horsepower, accountability and traditional values). It’s no wonder these two are such decorated icons.
