The race for Position 4 on the Port of Seattle Commission is looking more like a showdown between Tom Albro and Max Vekich.

Albro holds first place, with a commanding 23,643-vote lead over Vekich. In the close contest for second place, Vekich increased his lead over Robert Walker by 3,633 votes in Wednesday’s ballot counting, bringing Vekich’s total edge over Walker to 6,814 votes.

Walker said he wasn’t ready to concede yet, as thousands of ballots remain to be counted. But he acknowledged that his low-budget longshot campaign became a “longer shot” with the latest count.

In the Position 3 race, Rob Holland and David Doud will advance to the November election. Holland increased his lead over Doud to 36,764 votes. Doud holds a 32,941-vote advantage over third-place candidate Al Yuen.
