A half-acre of paper and cardboard caught fire outside a Kent recycling plant Wednesday before spreading to the interior.

The Kent Fire Department extinguished the three-alarm fire, reported at 1:10 p.m., in the 1200 block of Sixth Avenue North, a fire department news release says.

Fire crews from Tukwila, Seattle, Renton and Skyway responded, as well.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
