The city of Seattle says a $14 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation will make completion of the $98 million Mercer Corridor construction project possible.
The city of Seattle on Tuesday received a $14 million U.S. Department of Transportation grant, which the city says will make completion of a $98 million construction project along the Mercer Corridor possible.
Work on Mercer West, the second phase of construction, will begin in early 2013 and be completed by the middle of 2015, according to a news release from the city.
The eastern part of the Mercer Street Corridor rebuild is well under way. When the project is finished, there will be a continuous two-way arterial from Interstate 5 to Elliott Avenue West.
