A Port Orchard family is waiting and hoping to hear from their daughter in Haiti.

Mike and Mary Hightower fear that 22-year-old Molly Hightower is trapped in a building where she worked and lived. The building is a former hospital that served as a guest house, offices and school for Friends of the Orphans.

The group said Tuesday the building completely collapsed in the earthquake. A friend who escaped believes Molly was in her fifth-floor room when the quake hit.

Hightower is a 2005 graduate of Bellarmine Preparatory School in Tacoma who majored in French at the University of Portland. She went to Haiti in June as a volunteer on a yearlong program to work with disabled children.
