Throughout the week the aquarium hosted cephalopod-centric events like octopus releases, feedings and special dives with an octopus in the large Window on Washington Waters tank.

The week normally also features an “octopus blind date,” which made headlines this year when it was canceled. The aquarium feared that Kong, a 70-pound male giant Pacific octopus, might have had his much smaller date for dinner.
