A Mountlake Terrace man now faces a murder charge after a victim of a bar-fight beating has died.

The Daily Herald of Everett reports that 21-year-old Bryan James Scott pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder last week in Snohomish County Superior Court. Prosecutors say he attacked and stomped Christopher Patterson outside O’Houlie’s tavern in Mountlake Terrace last October.

Patterson suffered a fracture skull and severe brain injury, slipped into a coma and died late last month.

Investigators say surveillance video showed the 32-year-old Patterson falling to the ground after being punched in the head, and then Scott continuing to beat the unconscious man.
