Deputies are looking for a gunman who shot and killed a young man in a Burien apartment parking lot Friday afternoon, according to the King County sheriff’s department.

Authorities responded to the shooting in the 13700 block of 12th Avenue Southwest shortly after 4 p.m., according to a news release from sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt Cindi West. When they arrived, they found the victim, believed to be in his mid to late teens, with an apparent gunshot wound, the release says.

Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. The King County medical examiner will formally identify him and determine his cause of death.

Witnesses told authorities they saw a dark-colored, four-door vehicle and a group of people on foot leave the parking lot after the shooting, according to the release.

No other details were immediately available.
