Winds gusting to 45 mph knocked out power in parts of the Seattle area.

Seattle City Light reports about 2,600 outages in North Seattle, Shoreline and Lake Forest Park.

Puget Sound Energy spokeswoman MacKenzie McDowell says the utility has scattered outages in Kitsap and North King County.

National Weather Service forecaster Dennis D’Amico says the winds were a little stronger than expected.
