Soccer championship: The Dragonflies, the Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association team for girls under 12, won the 2004 Dairy Farmers of Washington Presidents Cup recently. Team members include: Catherine Binford, Jennifer Blanchard, Emily Booth, Charley Button, Audrey Huff, Hayley Jensen, Erica Leuenberger, Renne Mostashari, Christianna Mueller, Haley Peterson, Ashley Pittman, Jenny Price, Kelly Serna, Kellie Standish, Melissa Taft and Lauren Webber.


Chamber awards: Chris Martin of Puget Sound Laser will be honored as Kirkland Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year today at the group’s 69th annual awards luncheon. Other awards: Bob Burke of the Kirkland Heritage Society will receive the Ann J. Owen Community Service Award; Jamie O’Neill of Juanita High School will receive the Lee Johnson Student Community Service Award; and the Seattle Seahawks will be presented the Charles O. Morgan Business Excellence Award.


Woman of the year: Barbara Grube was honored as Woman of the Year by Woodinville Business and Professional Women. Winners are chosen for their commitment and excellence in professional career; support of other women seeking to advance in their careers; work toward inspiring other women; and notable community service.
