Movie patrons evacuated the building shortly after the report around 6 p.m. The theater remained closed for the night.
Police were called to a Redmond movie theater Friday night to investigate the credibility of a bomb threat, according to police.
Staff of the Regal Cinemas Bella Bottega 11 theater reported the threat, which was on a note in a theater bathroom, around 6 p.m., police spokeswoman Becky Range said in an email. Movie patrons evacuated the building shortly after the report, she added.
Washington State Patrol troopers helped Redmond police search the theater at 8890 161st Ave. N.E. for any potential danger, police said. The sweep ended around 9:50 p.m., Range said.
The theater remained closed for the night, she said.
The incident comes the same day classes were canceled at Redmond and Juanita high schools because of threats. Range said authorities do not know if either of those messages are connected to the theater threat.
No other information on the theater threat was immediately available.
