A convenience-store employee died Sunday night after being stabbed inside a market in the Chinatown International District, police say.

The incident happened just after 5 p.m., at the corner of Fifth Avenue South and South Jackson Street, across from a busy transit station. Officers found a white man in his 50s, “unresponsive,” and he was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he died, police said.

Police on Monday released surveillance video of a man in the market who they believe walked in and out of the frame shortly after the attack.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the incident to call 206-233-5000.

Detectives are investigating two disturbances Sunday involving the suspect and the “victim clerk,” said a police update late Sunday night. Police are collaborating with the Chinatown/International District Task Force, said police Detective Patrick Michaud.
