An 82-year-old woman died yesterday after she was struck by a car as she tried to cross a West Seattle intersection.

Around 11 a.m., police were called to the accident near the corner of Fauntleroy Way Southwest and Southwest Willow Street, said police spokesman Sean Whitcomb. A woman had been trying to cross from east to west on Fauntleroy Way in an unmarked crosswalk when a car driven by a 75-year-old woman struck her.

The pedestrian later died at Harborview Medical Center, Whitcomb said. The accident is under investigation, he said.
