For more than 24 hours, a full-grown bald eagle was stuck in a Bothell tree before a Bothell Fire Department ladder truck could deliver help.

Photographer Nancy Wagner was there to capture the ordeal.

“The eagle’s foot was lodged between two branches about 60 feet up a maple tree in a forested area on private property, making efforts to rescue him difficult,” she said in an email.

Rescuers with the Sarvey Wildlife Center dislodged the bird after snaring it in a net. The eagle was then taken to the wildlife center and evaluated for injuries.

The center posted on its Facebook page that the bird appeared to be “in good health.”
