THE GOOD news is your inner fashion critic can find loads of ways to express herself while sweating away in a studio, gym or on a run. The good/bad news is there are more choices than ever for looking cute while working out and, most of the time, they will cost you. (My sense of what is a normal amount of money to pay for black stretchy pants keeps skewing ever skyward.)
Still, we do appreciate a fashion-forward fitness gal who refuses to look frumpy while lifting weights or spinning her heart out. Here are some new favorites for the fall:
Sirsha 2 in 1 Yoga Tank, $75, Sweaty Betty
If you want to branch out while also amping up your yoga wear, check out Sweaty Betty, a UK brand that makes stylish options for dance, yoga, ski and swim. We are not quite bold enough for the purple, sparkly racerback Intergalactic Swimsuit, but we sure love this sparkly black, lightweight top with fitted bra. It’s gorgeous and functional.

Protector Run Jacket, $125, Sweaty Betty
Add a little ruching with reflective seams and a perfect purple, and we’re in. This sprinkle-resistant jacket from Sweaty Betty has extra ventilation under the arms. http://www.sweatybetty.com/us/protector-run-jacket-
Bird Leggings, Onzie, $58
The fact that we love these bird-print leggings is a sure sign we live in the Pacific Northwest. Try out these fun patterned leggings for a little pop in your basic black.
Skort Cruzado, $58, Ayayay
Running in skirts is the way to go. And we love this option from Ayayay, with a front-wrap detail, fitted, contrasting shorts and flippy skirt.
Carry-on Bag, Adidas by Stella McCartney, $140
If we’re gonna splurge, it’s Stella all the way. The designer’s Adidas activewear line keeps pushing fashion limits. But of all her uber-stylish — and pricey — fitness options, a classic bag, with plenty of compartments and pockets, feels like a fit fashion investment we can justify.
