Winter storms late last week brought much-needed relief to Cascade ski and snowboard areas, with substantial snowfall amounts ranging from one foot to more than four feet.

Snow-base depths are relatively good at most areas with spring-like conditions and sunshine.

Freezing levels will stay high — in the 10,000- to 12,000-foot range — with temperatures ranging from the low-30s to mid-40s. The extended forecast calls for rain showers by Saturday night through Sunday.

At The Summit at Snoqualmie Alpental, Summit West and Summit Central are open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Summit West has 28 inches of snow at the base.

The Mount Baker Ski Area is open daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the Heather Meadows base is 85 inches, and the Pan Dome depth has soared to 98 inches.

Crystal Mountain Resort is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with 23 inches on the base and 70 inches on the summit.
