Find your way in the dark with Map Motifs’ Map Motifs’ Map-Covered Light Switch Plates, made in Seattle.

Ramsey El-Moslimany handcrafts each one from upcycled and vintage maps found at book shops and thrift stores. They’re protected with a latex coating for longevity.

Designs include local areas — downtown Seattle, Bellevue, Mercer Island and Elliott Bay — as well as locales as far-flung as Istanbul, Finland, India and Africa. Custom designs are available.
