SEATTLE — The condominium high-rise NEXUS is celebrating a new chapter in its development: the exclusive Sky Series Residences. The homes are being built within the 41-story tower and will hit the market ahead of their expected completion in 2019.

To introduce the limited opportunity, NEXUS and Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty are bringing together some of the most innovative brands for Luxe in the City, a luxury lifestyle showcase event. A public sales debut is scheduled for June 17-18, with an exclusive preview event on June 14 for VIP guests.

At the center of the Luxe in the City showcase is a full-scale model home by Vancouver, B.C.-based Chantel Curic Design and InForm Interiors, with furnishings by Poltrona Frau, Flexform, Knoll Saarinen and others.

“As NEXUS is Seattle’s newest architectural icon in development, we are excited to partner with other brands that lead their respective industries,” says Christian Chan, executive vice president of Burrard Group, the developer of NEXUS. “We are all driven to not just meet what’s current, but actually get ahead of the curve.”

To that point, Chan has designed the Sky Series homes with larger-format two-, three- and four-bedroom home plans that boast signature architectural features. Options include two-story sky lofts, penthouses and sub-penthouses that offer more than 3,000 square feet of living space and ceiling heights of more than 10 feet.

All Sky Series Residences offer views of the city skyline, Capitol Hill landmarks or South Lake Union. Priced from less than $1.6 million to more than $5 million, the homes are pre-selling and still offer opportunities for home personalization.

Chan says he believes the Sky Series Residences will attract downsizing empty-nesters from surrounding neighborhoods who seek lock-and-leave living; move-up buyers from the city’s last generation of condominiums; and global citizens desiring a second or third home in Seattle, with an eye on passive investments and future in-city retirement with no state income tax.

“These homes are inherently limited and are unlike any other,” adds Michael Cannon, the sales director at NEXUS. “We have already sold several properties to buyers who enjoyed preferred selection and introductory pricing. They understand these Sky Series Residences are in their own asset class — clearly, not all condominiums are created equal.”

Amenities at NEXUS include the 41st-floor Sky Parlor with an indoor-outdoor exhibition kitchens, sundecks and barbecue areas; a Sky Lounge with game and media rooms; a catering kitchen and private dining room; a fireside Sky Grotto; a ground-level café and restaurants; a full-service concierge team; and an innovative tech platform called XEN, which connects residents to their community, their home and their lifestyle pursuits by using their smartphones.

“With such modern-day conveniences, world-class designs and a can’t-beat location in the heart of the burgeoning East Village district of downtown Seattle, it comes as no surprise that NEXUS is nearly 80 percent sold some 24 months before occupancy,” Cannon says. “As Seattle continues to develop exponentially, NEXUS and the Sky Series Residences play an important role in the future of our city.”
