It’s not just the travelers who enjoy riding across the country by bus. The drivers love it, too.

Growing up, Jason Futch was unable to travel due to financial restrictions. But when he was working as a driver for Greyhound Lines, Inc., he was able to travel the country.

“Driving with Greyhound has given me the opportunity to meet new people and see new places, places that I could only dream of going to as a kid,” says Futch.

Futch believes meeting and interacting with new people is what makes a driver great. It’s one of his favorite parts of the job. He enjoys listening to customers’ stories and hearing about their experiences.

A driver’s primary responsibility is to make sure customers arrive at their destinations safely, but providing customers with a good experience from start to finish is important, too. Part of that good experience is the benefit of having a driver who’s also enjoying the ride.

With a passion for people and traveling, Futch enjoys documenting his travels on his Instagram account where he shares photographs and stories about his recent travels. And with WiFi now a standard feature on many buses, it’s easy for travelers to share their views along the way, too.
