Car’s make and model: 1955 Chevrolet 210 Delray

“We love our car because … in 1983, we found this ‘55 Chevy in a neighbor’s garage. Five hundred dollars and some auto parts later and it was ours. It only had the frame and body … no running gear or interior. It had been a former drag strip car and 12 coats of paint covered it. We hand-stripped the body down to the bare metal, found seats and a Delray interior. We built a 350 engine and transmission over the next few years. Total frame-up restoration was finished in 1986. Our kids grew up with this car. Our son took his girlfriend to the prom in it. The next year, our daughter drove it to her senior prom (no, she didn’t let her date drive it!). It’s been in our family for 34 years now and will be passed down. We have so many memories in building and driving this classic Chevy!”
