RAVE To the kind lady who stopped me while I was walking downtown and discreetly told me that the back of my dress was caught on my shoulder bag, exposing me to the elements and much more. We girls gotta stick together!
RANT To the person who keyed the driver’s door and tried to break the mirror off my car while it was parked in the Virginia Mason parking garage. I suppose this was retribution for my car’s wheels being on the stall line a bit so I would not hit the passenger door mirror on the adjacent column. I hope that you or a family member were not at VM for serious health problems. If you happen to read this and feel remorse, you might consider a $500 donation to the charity of your choice. That’s what I’m paying for repairs.
RAVE To Osvaldo Alonso and SoundersFC. When they said one of the Sounders players would come visit my daughters’ soccer camp, I didn’t expect them to send a team captain (and my favorite player). It’s great to see professional athletes reach out to their young fans.
RANT After recent back surgery, part of my recovery regimen is twice-daily walks around the neighborhood. Using a walker, it’s made quite difficult by cars parked on the sidewalks, overgrown landscaping blocking the walkway and unswept layers of pine needles and leaves on the sidewalks. It would be impossible for a wheelchair. Please folks, have a little thought and a little heart and help keep sidewalks clear. You may be in my shoes someday.

RAVE AND RANT Rave to Paul McCartney for taking my breath away with his brilliant Safeco Field concert. Rant to the 20-something girl sitting behind me who punched me in the throat (also taking my breath away) just because I stood up to dance to a song. RAVE To the waitress who ran after me and offered me a free latte when I got off the bus visibly upset after being sexually harassed, and to the other woman passenger who waited with me for my next bus. Thank you both for your concern, compassion and kindness.
