RAVE For the people who knit hats for those undergoing chemotherapy. I hope you know how delighted I am to find the perfect fit in the perfect color in the free hat basket at my cancer treatment place.
RANT To the person who stole the statue of the Virgin Mary from the planting area in front of our house … we’ll pray for you, but it may not help.
RAVE For Korean Airlines for the unwavering assistance and compassion by their flight crew and ground personnel while I was escorting a seriously ill family member from Cambodia to Seattle. From boarding, to layover, to clearing customs, they made a very difficult and scary situation less so. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you had a direct role in saving a man’s life.
RANT AND RAVE Rant to my friend going through TSA security with me at the airport and grousing about the four women ahead of us loaded down with huge backpacks and equipment, probably larger than they should’ve been taking on board. Rave to the women, who when I asked “Where are you going?,” replied, “We’re nurses on our way to Sierra Leone on a medical mission.” Let’s not judge others until we know their story, people.

RAVE For the good Samaritan who ran out into traffic to save my friend’s phone that she’d inadvertently dropped in the street. He saved it from being run over and from headache and expense for sure. Rant to me for only thanking him verbally; I should have offered a Starbucks reward as well.
RANT To coffee-shop patrons who read newspapers from newsstands without paying for them, especially to those who rough up the rag before returning it.
RAVE My partner and I lost our dear cat to cancer recently, a painful situation made much less painful with the help of the clinic who made her death as painless as possible and were so compassionate while I bawled. Also raves for Persian and Himalayan Rescue, hosted by Petco, who helped us to adopt another kitty. You’re all proof there’s kindness in this world.
