The Annual Spring Break Open Track & Field Meet began to support college teams that did not have the resources to stage meets during the spring break. Today, in its 24th year, it is an all-comers meet that includes athletes ranging from just out of high school to masters athletes older than 35.

This year’s event, at West Seattle Stadium, begins at 9 a.m., Saturday. Organizer Bill Roe, of Club Northwest, said the meet will try to accommodate late-registering athletes, even those who show up on the day of the event — but only when their entry doesn’t necessitate creating a new heat.
