Actress revealed a photo of herself with a gap-toothed smile on "The Tonight Show."
Actress Demi Moore’s revelation on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that she’d lost her two front teeth to stress was so hard for some to believe it caused them to followup with dentists about her claims.
In preparation for her appearance on Fallon’s show Monday to promote her new movie, “Rough Night,” the 54-year-old star had sent the host a photo of herself with her missing teeth on full display.
Moore told Fallon she actually lost both her front teeth to stress and said that her children loved her humanizing gap-tooth smile.
“I’d love to say it was skateboarding or really like something cool, but I think I think it’s something that’s important to share, because I think it’s literally, probably after heart disease, which is stress. Stress sheared off my front tooth.”

In a previous interview with Ellen DeGeneres in 2010, Moore explained that she had a “bad bite” and was clenching her teeth when one of her teeth fell out.
“It was almost like it fell out and my warranty was up,” she told Fallon.
According to dentists who were contacted after Moore’s revelation, stress can contribute to dental problems but is not typically the sole contributor.
At health.com, New York dentist Marc Lowenberg explained that stress can make people grind their teeth, which can wear away enamel and cause teeth to crack or break, and it can compromise the body’s immune system and lead to periodontal problems.
“Stress is very obvious in most people’s teeth,” he told health.com. “You can actually see how they grind their teeth and how they’re worn down, and many people who live with stress have to have a guard made to protect their teeth.”
He added that if Moore did lose her teeth because of grinding-related fractures, that her scenario is the “absolute extreme.”
The actress, who has been married to Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher, also shared a Snapchat video of herself at the dentist’s office which led to Fallon inviting her to inhale helium and speak in a weird high voice about her new movie.
