Trevor Noah doesn’t have an easy job. Replacing the beloved Jon Stewart was never going to be easy. One of the reasons Stewart had such an impact is that he didn’t shy away from having guests with different political and world views on “The Daily Show.”  Noah has continued this practice.

On Wednesday night’s episode, Noah’s guest was conservative political commentator Tomi Lahren. Noah spent the interview trying to get a better understanding of Lahren’s views. He started off by asking Lahren why she is so angry, then got into questions about Donald Trump, health care, Black Lives Matter and Colin Kaepernick.

The exchanges were refreshingly polite, yet pointed. At one point Lahren said the president-elect is a reasonable guy. Noah asked, “You think Trump is reasonable and level headed?” Lahren said she did and Noah followed up with, “Do you have Twitter?”

At another point during the interview Lahren said, “I’m a Millennial so I don’t like labels. But, yes, I’m conservative in thought.”

The strain on Noah’s face was evident as he briefly thought about that and responded with, “Sorry. My brain. You just gave a label to say you don’t like labels.”
